FINAL BLOG

PART 1- Personally I believe that I have a creative and synthesizing mind. While I push forward to find new ways of thinking and writing, I am able to receive information and put it together in a way that is understandable to the reader. These qualities make up my mind. PART 2- I have experimented with new ideas as I tried new methods when writing my essays. This year i have also asked provocative questions that raise ethical issues towards society. Finally I believe that I read essays in this class with awareness of self and of others. I can read others works and be able to be unbiased but give honest feedback. PART 3- After developing my blog I realized that making blogs challenges you to learn new things and challenge society.

THE CYRUS FAMILY

Billy Ray Cyrus considers himself a musician. That was his first mistake. His second? Deciding to reproduce. Billy Ray has no talent and he should have kept an achy, breaky heart instead of creating the spawn that is Miley Cyrus. Billy Ray's life is full of wrong turns and slip-ups. Deciding to let his teenage daughter become a Disney star? Horrible, terrible decision. She is now ruined, following the trail of Lindsey Lohan. I have not even mentioned the family's acting ability (or lack there of). Allowing Miley/Hannah Montana to make movies is like telling a monkey that it will be the president of the United States. People actually pay money to see that garbage. Poor people, I feel so bad for them. Billy Ray should do us all a favor, and take his family out of the music business, cut that knappy head of hair, and take a long walk off a short pier.

WILLIAM HUNG

William Hung shows the world why he should keep his day job. It is clear he is not only tone deaf, but immune to people laughing at him. None the less, I would rather listen to this screeching than have to sit through a new Nickelback album.

LADY GAGA

Amidst rumors of being a hermaphrodite, "Lady" Gaga has torn through the music industry. But why? A pounding bass, and a catchy chorus are the only thing driving Gaga's overplayed songs. Without those her/his songs are a mesh of bad lyrics and strange clothing. People like her/him only because it is popular to be weird. People know her music because every other song on the radio is hers/his. I pray that "Lady" Gaga's did not write her/his own lyrics. In the smash hit "Poker Face" one line reads, "Cause I'm bluffin' with my muffin, I'm not lying I'm just stunnin' with my love-glue-gunning." Unless these lyrics were written by a four year old, "Lady" Gaga needs to fire her lyricist. A shovel could have written better lyrics. Now, onto her clothes, "Lady" Gaga seems to feel the urge to dress as outlandish as humanly possible. Clearly it has garnered the attention of the music industry. People wait around just to see what she will look like. This is ludicrous. Her/his outrageous attire takes away from the music, but I guess that is what she/he was looking for because who really wants to hear about her bluffin' muffin.

Kid Cudi - Day 'N' Nite

NICKELBACK

Nickelback is the epitome of bad music. Their lead singer, Chad Kroeger, has the most punchable face in the whole music industry, followed closely by Miley Cyrus. Kroeger sounds like a man who had been yelling for sixteen straight hours swallowed a carton of cigarettes. His voice makes deaf children cry. Wishing he would quit music is putting it nicely.Now onto their "music" (if you can call it that). The song "If Today was Your Last Day" is a disappointing song saturated with overused cliches. One of the verses is ,"Against the grain should be a way of life, What's worth the price is always worth the fight, Every second counts 'cause there's no second try, So live like you're never living twice, Don't take the free ride in your own life." These lines could have been taken directly from a cheesy self help book. If today was my last day I would take a "Photograph" as I pushed Nickelback off a cliff.

COUNTRY MUSIC

Country Music is horrible. It is only slightly less horrible than Nickelback (look at next post for Nickelback's terrible-ness). Now, i understand that country music is a form of entertainment, but it is not even entertaining. Listening to a redneck sing about his dog dying makes my ears bleed. Twang fell out of style before it was in. The only thing that country is about is dogs, tractors, losing the woman you love, and getting drunk. No one wants to hear about any of those things from Tim Urban or Keith McGraw. Having to listen to Hank FM everyday I work is worse than torture. Sitting through hours of mindless hicks singing about nothing makes me want to run out into traffic. The catchy, poppy country I can handle in small doses such as Carrie Underwood and some T-Swift. They are better than all other country because they can use pop in their music. Dogs will die, women will leave, your big red pick-up truck will break down and we don't want to hear about it. Country music should be destroyed.
